Temple of Ptah

The temple walls contain carved scenes showing Ramesses II performing the Heb Sed ritual, illustrating religious practices of ancient Egyptian royalty.

Visitors access the archaeological site through Mit Rahina village, where excavated blocks and artifacts are displayed in an open-air museum.

The temple's original name, Hut-ka-Ptah, meaning House of Ptah's Spirit, later evolved into the word Egypt through Greek linguistic transformation.
