Prayagraj Chheoki Junction railway station, Railway Station in Prayagraj district, Uttar Pradesh, India
Prayagraj Chheoki Junction is a surface-level railway station in the Naini district of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, roughly ten kilometers southeast of the city's main station. It has four high-level platforms and sits at a junction where several major rail lines cross, including the route connecting Howrah and Delhi.
The station was built in the late 1800s as part of the Jubbulpore line, which began running in 1867 to link the Naini area with Jabalpur. Over the following decades, it became a bypass route that helped reduce pressure on the main Prayagraj station for through trains.
The station sits in the Naini area, a district known more for its industries than for tourism, which gives it a working, everyday feel compared to the main station. During major pilgrimage seasons, the flow of travelers changes noticeably, and the platforms fill with people carrying luggage and religious items on their way to the Ganges.
The station can be reached by local bus, auto-rickshaw, taxi, or private vehicle, and there is parking on site. It has a second entrance gate that can be useful when the main access is crowded, so it is worth knowing about before you arrive.
Despite being much smaller than the city's main station, the junction handles trains on some of the busiest long-distance routes in the country. From November 2025, the Vande Bharat Express began stopping here, offering faster connections to cities like Varanasi and Khajuraho.
