Torre del Bo, Romanesque tower at University of Padua, Italy
The Torre del Bo stands 48 meters tall with rounded arches, robust construction, and decorative arcading along its stone exterior walls.
The Torre del Bo, constructed in the late 13th century by the Carraresi family, became part of the University of Padua complex in 1539.
The tower functions as a central element of the University of Padua, one of the oldest educational institutions where Galileo Galilei taught classes.
Visitors can access the tower through the main entrance of Palazzo Bo on Via VIII Febbraio 1848, near the Pedrocchi Caffè in central Padua.
The structure contains an anatomical theater from 1595, which remains the oldest permanent facility built specifically for teaching medical anatomy.
