Palazzo Zabarella

Palazzo Zabarella is an art museum housed in a medieval building in Padua's historic center with large halls decorated by 19th-century artists including Giovanni Carlo Bevilacqua and Francesco Hayez. The interior features frescoes and painted panels that were created specifically for these spaces.

The building was constructed on the remains of ancient Roman foundations and underwent major renovation during the Renaissance period. These changes reflected the new architectural ideas that were transforming the city at that time.

The palace hosts rotating exhibitions featuring works from Italian and international artists spanning different periods and styles. You can see how these displays change the way the rooms feel and function throughout the year.
