San Gaetano Church, Renaissance church in central Padua, Italy.

San Gaetano Church is a building with an octagonal structure and a facade marked by six pillars framing its entrance. Inside, colored marble decorations and an ornate ceiling create a harmonious and refined religious space.

Construction of the building took place between 1574 and 1586 under the direction of architect Vincenzo Scamozzi. It replaced an older chapel and became an important center for the Theatine order, a reformed religious group.

The interior walls display paintings from the 1600s showing local saints and members of the Theatine order who were important to the community. These artworks reflect the spiritual figures that people in Padua cared about most.

The church sits on Via Altinate in central Padua and is easy to reach on foot. It's wise to check opening hours before visiting, as access times can vary throughout the week.

The ceiling features a large fresco showing heavenly scenes painted in 1730 by a French artist. This colorful work is one of the most striking visual elements visitors encounter inside.
