The Civic Museums of Padua occupy the former convent of Eremitani monks, featuring extensive collections of archaeological artifacts and medieval art pieces.
The museum's foundation traces to 1783 with acquisitions from ecclesiastical institutions, including the convent of San Giovanni da Verdara and other religious buildings.
The museum collection contains 3000 paintings from the 14th to 19th centuries, including works by Lorenzo Veneziano, Giovanni da Bologna, and Paolo Veronese.
The museum opens Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, offering wheelchair access and student discounts for educational visits.
The painting gallery displays a Crucifix by Giotto and Angels by Guariento, representing the artistic evolution of the Veneto region through centuries.
