Museo del Risorgimento e dell'età contemporanea

The Museo del Risorgimento e dell'età contemporanea displays documents, photographs, and artifacts chronicling Italian history from 1797 to 1948 within its neoclassical building.

The museum occupies the location where students from the University of Padua initiated an uprising against Austrian forces on February 8, 1848.

The collection includes military medals, uniforms, weapons, and personal items that demonstrate the evolution of Italian society during the Risorgimento period.

Located at Galleria Pedrocchi 11, the museum received 3,667 visitors in 2021 and provides complete wheelchair access throughout its exhibition spaces.

Bullet holes from the 1848 student revolt remain visible in the White Room, serving as physical evidence of the building's role in Italian independence.
