Tarumiyama Kofun

The Tarumiyama Kofun extends 75 meters in length and features a distinctive keyhole shape with both square and round sections in its architectural design.

Constructed during the mid-sixth century, this burial mound stands as evidence of Japan's Kofun period when elaborate tombs marked the final resting places of nobility.

The structure reflects the burial practices of ancient Japanese society, incorporating specific architectural elements that signified the status of the interred individuals.

Visitors can reach the site by taking a seven-minute walk south from Katabiranotsuji Station on the Keifuku Electric Railroad through the residential neighborhood.

The Imperial Household Agency maintains this burial mound, which shares architectural characteristics with the nearby Hebizuka-kofun Tumulus, located 500 meters to the south.
