Shizuoka City Toro Museum

The Shizuoka City Toro Museum displays extensive collections of artifacts and reconstructed structures from the Late Yayoi period settlement discovered at this location.

The archaeological site was found in 1943 during the construction of a munitions factory, leading to major excavations between 1947 and 1950.

The museum exhibits preserved wooden implements, earthenware, and agricultural tools that demonstrate the advanced rice farming techniques of Yayoi period inhabitants.

The museum opens from Tuesday through Sunday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with admission fees of 300 yen for adults and 50 yen for children.

Visitors can participate in traditional activities such as bow-drill fire-making and cooking ancient rice varieties in the outdoor educational area.
