Fujiya Hotel Sengoku Golf Course, Public golf course in Sengokuhara, Japan
Fujiya Hotel Sengoku Golf Course is an 18-hole facility in Sengokuhara spanning about 6,050 meters with a mix of flat and rolling terrain. The natural landscape creates varied playing conditions across the layout, with each hole offering different challenges.
The facility was founded in 1917 with seven holes designed by FE Colchester. It expanded to 18 holes in 1935 under architect Shiro Akaboshi's direction.
The course reflects how Western recreational sports took root in Japan and shaped leisure time for those with access to such facilities. Today, visitors come here as part of their regular golfing routine and to enjoy time with friends and family.
Visitors will find a 300-meter driving range with nine bays available for practice before heading out. The clubhouse facilities are open to guests throughout their visit for rest and refreshment.
Following World War II, the United States Army took control of the course from 1945 to 1952. After returning to public hands, the facility resumed its role as a recreational destination for golfers.
