The Float at Marina Bay, Floating stadium at Marina Bay, Singapore
The Float at Marina Bay is a steel pontoon on the Marina Reservoir that forms a stage for large events and connects to a grandstand along the shore with seating for thousands of spectators. The structure rests on the water and offers open views toward the surrounding towers and harbor.
The Defense Science and Technology Agency designed this pontoon as a temporary replacement for the National Stadium and opened it in May 2007. The facility was created to host mass events during the main stadium renovation.
This waterfront platform serves as the main stage for Singapore's annual National Day celebration and combines military displays with water shows against the city skyline. Visitors can observe the design that allows open sightlines toward the water and surrounding buildings.
The platform sits right next to Marina Bay Sands and is visible from the waterfront path along the bay. Visitors can access the structure during public events when the area opens for spectators.
The foundation consists of fifteen interconnected pontoons anchored to the seabed by six pylons near Marina Bay Sands. This construction allows the platform to carry heavy stage equipment and multiple military vehicles at the same time during events.
