Millenia Tower, Skyscraper in Marina Centre, Singapore
Millenia Tower is an office skyscraper in Marina Centre, Singapore, built on a square footprint with four cylindrical towers marking each corner. The building has 41 floors and is topped by a pyramidal roof that makes it easy to spot from a distance.
Construction started in 1992 and finished in 1996, during a period when Singapore was expanding its central business district toward Marina Bay. The site was part of a broader urban plan to develop the area now known as Marina Centre.
The lobby features a large mural called 'Rising' by Frank Stella, spanning five floors and visible as you move through the entrance area. A pumpkin sculpture by Yayoi Kusama is also placed inside the building, offering an unexpected encounter with contemporary art in an office setting.
The tower sits next to Promenade MRT station, so it is easy to reach by public transport without much walking. The pyramidal roof is visible from surrounding streets and helps with orientation when approaching on foot.
The four cylindrical corner towers are lit up at night, giving the building a different appearance after dark compared to daytime. These illuminated columns are visible from a distance and make the tower recognizable even when the skyline is crowded.
