Fountain of Wealth, Bronze fountain in Suntec City, Singapore
The Fountain of Wealth is a large fountain set in the middle of Suntec City shopping complex in Singapore, featuring a bronze circular ring held up by four sturdy columns. The ring itself forms a closed loop at ground level, surrounded by storefronts, restaurants and open walkways, so you can view it from many angles.
The structure was built in 1995 as part of the new Suntec City office and retail development and entered the Guinness World Records three years later. Since then, it has remained a fixed landmark in Singapore's central business district, drawing both visitors and office workers in the area.
The name refers to traditional ideas about water as a sign of prosperity, a theme often seen in architecture and garden design across the region. Visitors can walk beneath the ring during certain hours and touch the water, which has become a recurring ritual at the site.
The fountain stands outdoors and is accessible every day from early morning until late evening, as the surrounding shopping complex stays open throughout. Light shows often take place in the evening, and you can simply show up without any special preparation or entry fee.
The water surface inside the ring is shallow enough for children to wade through, which happens often during the day. Most of the technical installation lies hidden below ground and includes pumps and lighting that you cannot see from the upper level.
