Gardens by the Bay, Urban park in Downtown Core, Singapore.
Gardens by the Bay is a large public park in central Singapore, divided into three sections: Bay South with the Supertrees and glass conservatories, Bay East with open lawns, and Bay Central forming a waterfront link. The site covers about 247 acres along Marina Bay and includes themed gardens, conservatories and walking paths.
The site was built on reclaimed land starting from 2005 and opened in 2012, aiming to turn Singapore into a garden city with more green space. The plan involved surrounding Marina Bay with large botanical areas and testing new technologies for sustainability.
The Heritage Gardens display plants and designs drawn from Chinese, Malay, Indian and colonial garden traditions, reflecting the different communities that shaped Singapore. Each area follows its own style and shows how plants were used in these four traditions.
The park opens daily from 9 AM to 9 PM, with separate tickets needed for the Supertree walkway and both climate-controlled conservatories. The outdoor areas are free to enter and offer shaded paths for walking.
The Flower Dome holds the record for the largest freestanding glass greenhouse in the world, while the Cloud Forest contains a 35-meter (115-foot) waterfall, the tallest inside a building. The Supertrees light up at night and perform a regular light and music show.
