Zhenghua Park, Nature park in Bukit Panjang, Singapore

Zhenghua Park is a nature reserve spanning about 17 hectares in Bukit Panjang, featuring walking paths that connect residential areas to the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. The site is planted with native trees and shrubs that support bird and butterfly populations throughout the year.

The park was created in 2002 as an ecological buffer between residential neighborhoods and the Bukit Timah Expressway. This design allowed wildlife corridors to function, enabling animals to move safely between different green spaces across the city.

The park serves as a gathering place for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts who come to observe resident and migratory species. This role reflects how the community values green spaces as sanctuaries for wildlife within the urban environment.

The park is accessible through three entrances located at Segar Road, Bangkit Road, and Chestnut Avenue and is open at all times. Visitors should wear comfortable walking shoes and aim for early morning or late afternoon hours when bird activity is highest.

The park shelters rare native tree species such as Tembusu and Jejawi, which are scarce in other parts of Singapore. These trees are key plants that support the local wildlife and demonstrate why this location matters for the region's biodiversity.
