Mibu-Kurumazuka Kofun, Ancient burial mound in Mibu, Japan.
The Kurumazuka Kofun features a three-tiered dome structure with a diameter of 82 meters and reaches a height of eight meters above ground level.
Built in the early 7th century, this burial mound belonged to a period when local kings governed the Shimotsuke region under the central Yamato administration.
The burial chamber inside the mound measures three meters in length and contains architectural elements that reflect the funerary practices of ancient Japanese society.
The archaeological site lies within a 20-minute walking distance from Mibu Station on the Tobu Railway Utsunomiya Line, making it accessible to visitors.
Two concentric moats, each 7.5 meters wide, originally encircled the mound, while remnants of stone covering called fukiishi still remain on its surface.
