Lord Egerton Castle, Colonial estate in Nakuru, Kenya
The castle features Tudor-style architecture with high ceilings, stone walls, grand halls, towers, and multiple rooms spread across its three levels.
Built between 1938 and 1954 by Lord Maurice Egerton, a British nobleman who settled in Kenya during the colonial period to establish agricultural ventures.
The castle displays a collection of period furniture, hunting trophies, photographs, and artifacts that represent both British colonial lifestyle and Kenyan heritage.
The castle opens daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with guided tours available in English and Swahili, including access to the gardens and museum.
After Lord Egerton's marriage proposal rejection, he expanded the castle to four times its original size to demonstrate his wealth and social status.
