Trail 5 Margalla Hills

Trail 5 Margalla Hills is a hiking route that extends about five kilometers through dense forest areas in the Margalla Hills and leads toward Monal Restaurant.The path follows natural tracks winding through the mountain terrain and passing through different elevations.

The route received its name Darra Janglan, meaning jungle passage, from residents who used these mountain paths for generations before Islamabad was established.The name reflects the long history of human movement through this area.

Local families use this path regularly on weekends to spend time in nature and stay active.This habit connects residents with the mountains and makes the place a gathering point for the community.

The path is accessible from sunrise to sunset and is monitored by security personnel stationed along the route.Most hikers need about three hours to complete the distance.

Along the route there is a section called Big Rock where the elevation changes noticeably and hikers get a wide view over the national park.This spot offers one of the best viewpoints on the entire trail.
