Supreme Court of Pakistan Building, Court building in Islamabad, Pakistan

The Supreme Court building is a court structure in Islamabad characterized by its distinctive architectural language. It combines concrete forms with horizontal lines and a central dome, creating a monumental presence along Constitution Avenue.

Japanese architect Kenzo Tange designed and completed this government structure in 1965 as part of the planned development of Pakistan's new capital. The building was constructed as part of a broader project to establish Islamabad as the seat of government.

The building reflects Pakistan's legal system through design that blends modernist principles with regional building traditions. Visitors can observe this mix of western design and local influences when walking through the structure.

Access is generally available to visitors, though security measures are in place at the entrance. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes and check in advance about any restrictions before your visit.

The main courtroom features a 40-meter-high ceiling where natural light filters through geometric patterns in the concrete dome. This play of light and shadow creates an impressive interior space that visitors often overlook.
