Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath College of Fine Arts, Art museum complex in Bangalore, India
Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath contains 18 galleries, with 13 spaces dedicated to permanent collections of paintings, sculptures, and traditional folk art displays.
Three visionaries - S. S. Kukke, M. Arya Murthy, and M.S. Nanjunda Rao - established this cultural institution in 1960 with support from the Karnataka government.
The museum houses extensive collections of Mysore paintings and leather puppets, representing the artistic traditions of Karnataka through various exhibition spaces.
The galleries remain open from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM every day, providing opportunities for visitors to explore both permanent collections and temporary exhibitions.
Each January, the institution organizes Chitra Santhe, a street art festival that transforms the surrounding area into an open gallery for public art appreciation.
