Aling-Aling Waterfall
Aling-Aling is a waterfall in northern Bali that drops about 35 meters into a wide pool and creates multiple smaller cascades. The site features a hiking trail past a series of four waterfalls: Kroya, Kembar, Pucuk, and finally Aling-Aling itself.
Aling-Aling has no long recorded history but has been known by local people for generations as a gathering place. The waterfall is part of northern Bali's natural landscape and has served villagers and travelers for many years.
The name Aling-Aling comes from local language and refers to the sound of rushing water. Local people visit this waterfall to pray and perform small ceremonies, particularly in the upper area where they believe the water holds spiritual meaning.
The waterfall is open daily from 8 AM to 5 PM and requires an entrance fee of about 20,000 IDR per person. Water activities like jumping or sliding cost an extra 125,000 IDR, and hiring a local guide is recommended as they provide safety gear and take photographs.
The site offers multiple jumping spots at different heights: Kroya allows 5-meter jumps, Kembar features 10-meter jumps between two water streams, and Pucuk reaches about 15 meters high. This range of natural jump points makes each visit a genuine outdoor adventure experience.
