The Museum of Art and History spans three floors across 20,000 square feet, displaying post-war American art and California-specific exhibitions throughout its galleries.
Founded in 1952, the museum relocated to its current location in 2010 as part of a redevelopment project between the City of Lancaster and InSite Development.
The museum features rotating exhibitions focusing on regional artists, including the annual All-Media Juried Art Exhibition and High School Art Exhibition for local talent.
Visitors can explore the museum Tuesday through Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Thursday from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and Friday to Sunday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The Desert Forest exhibition examines the Joshua tree ecosystem, combining natural history, indigenous knowledge, and scientific research about this Mojave Desert species.
