Colliers Mills Wildlife Management Area

Colliers Mills Wildlife Management Area is a protected preserve in Jackson Township containing pitch pine forests, scrub oak habitats, forest swamps, and multiple lakes. The grounds span about 12,906 acres and feature different landscapes that support wildlife.

The area was established by the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife as a protected site to preserve natural resources. This decision was part of a program to support local ecosystems through conservation efforts.

Nearly 140 bird species live here, including Eastern Phoebes, Eastern Bluebirds, and Ovenbirds, making this a recognized area for bird watching. Visitors can observe these birds throughout the year in their natural habitats.

Visitors can enjoy hiking, horseback riding, fishing, and seasonal hunting throughout the year under established rules. It is best to check current regulations before visiting and bring appropriate gear for outdoor activities.
