Six Flags Great Adventure

Six Flags Great Adventure is an animal theme park in Jackson Township, New Jersey, pairing rides with a drive-through safari where visitors watch animals from their cars. The site covers around 510 acres and includes multiple themed zones, more than 60 attractions, and a separate safari area for wildlife viewing.

The park opened in 1974 under the direction of Warner LeRoy and was acquired by Six Flags three years later, which expanded it steadily. New roller coasters and themed areas were added over the decades, establishing its place among leading amusement parks in the country.

The park features distinct themed sections that represent different geographical regions and time periods through architecture and entertainment.

Admission is available as single-day or season passes, both giving access to all rides and animal exhibits. Weekends and summer school breaks draw larger crowds, so weekdays often offer shorter wait times.

Kingda Ka, the tallest roller coaster on site, launches riders from zero to 128 mph in 3.5 seconds and climbs to 456 feet (139 meters). It has ranked among the fastest and tallest of its kind worldwide since opening.
