Capital Square

Capital Square is a mixed-use tower in Kuala Lumpur that houses residential apartments, a shopping mall, and office spaces in one structure. The building connects all these areas through internal pathways, creating a self-contained urban environment.

American architect John C. Portman Jr. designed this building, which opened in 2011 as part of the city's modernization push. Its completion marked a significant moment in the transformation of Kuala Lumpur's downtown landscape.

The building integrates Malaysian architectural elements with international design principles through its emphasis on vertical spaces and natural light incorporation.

The building is easy to navigate and offers visitors direct access to shopping, dining, and work areas without going outside. The internal layout makes it especially convenient during hot or rainy weather.

The building features multi-story interior atria with vertical gardens, a signature element of Portman's design approach. These green spaces hidden inside the tower offer visitors unexpected moments of calm in the middle of the city.
