Telekom Museum, Telecommunications museum in Jalan Raja Chulan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The Telekom Museum occupies the second floor of a neoclassical building with eight columns and features multiple rooms dedicated to different periods of communication technology.
The structure, built in 1928 as a manual telephone exchange office, underwent transformation into a museum following Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad's 1985 heritage site proposal.
The museum displays document the progression of Malaysian communication methods from traditional systems through telegraph operations to contemporary digital networks.
Located 450 meters from Masjid Jamek LRT station, this free-admission museum opens daily between 9:00 and 17:00, except during national holidays.
Visitors can interact with preserved telephone switchboards and examine the actual equipment used throughout different phases of Malaysian telecommunications development.
