Maybank Tower

Maybank Tower is an office building in central Kuala Lumpur consisting of two interlocking square sections rising 244 meters across 50 floors. The structure features slanted roofs that taper toward the top, creating a distinctive profile when viewed from different angles.

The tower opened in 1988 and held the title of Malaysia's tallest structure until the Petronas Twin Towers surpassed it in 1995. Its completion marked a significant milestone in the city's modern building development during that decade.

The tower's architecture incorporates geometric patterns and angular forms that connect to Malaysian design traditions while maintaining modern structural principles.

The building sits near Plaza Rakyat LRT station and a major bus terminal across Jalan Tun Perak street, making it simple to reach by public transport. The area offers good access points whether you arrive from different parts of the city.

The building's angular shape takes inspiration from a sheathed kris, a traditional Malaysian dagger, which gives it a distinctive look from the street. This design choice is immediately noticeable when you observe the building's edges and how they point upward.
