Fraser's Hill is a hill station spread across several ridges at about 1,500 meters elevation, surrounded by rain forests. The buildings reflect colonial-era architecture and the area sits near the border between two states.
A Scottish prospector named Louis James Fraser started tin mining here in 1890 and later vanished mysteriously. The area was then developed into a popular retreat for visitors.
Bird watchers come here to observe the many species living in the mountain forests, which are particularly active during certain seasons. This place has become a gathering spot for people interested in nature and wildlife.
The location is cooler than surrounding lowlands, with daytime temperatures between 22 and 28 degrees Celsius (72-82°F) and nighttime temperatures between 16 and 20 degrees (61-68°F). The best visiting period is April through September when weather is more stable.
The location offers several marked hiking trails ranging from short walks to full-day treks through dense forests. One route passes through an old chapel that draws many visitors who appreciate its quiet setting.
