Burj Al Alam, Proposed skyscraper in Business Bay, Dubai.
Burj Al Alam is a planned skyscraper in Business Bay with 108 floors reaching 510 meters high, featuring a crystal flower shape with six structural petals. The tower combines office spaces, ground-level retail areas, and hotel rooms within a single integrated design.
This Fortune Group project began construction in November 2006 but was halted in 2009 during the global financial crisis. The structure remained incomplete and development never resumed afterward.
The architectural design by Nikken Sekkei incorporated elements from both Arabian rose patterns and Japanese Zen principles in its structural composition.
The design allocated most floors for office use with extensive retail spaces at ground level for various commercial purposes. Upper sections were configured for hotel guests with dedicated amenities, combining multiple functions within a single tower.
The tower's crown section included six specialized floors featuring a Turkish bath and elevated garden spaces reserved for hotel guests. These upper levels offered visitors exclusive amenities with access to private outdoor areas.
