AAM Tower, High-rise building in Dubai Media City, United Arab Emirates
AAM Tower is an office high-rise in Dubai Media City, standing 46 floors tall with angular lines marking its facade. The building forms part of the commercial core of the district and is oriented along Sheikh Zayed Road.
The tower was built between 2005 and 2008, a period when Dubai was developing much of its current skyline at speed. Many of the high-rises that now line Sheikh Zayed Road date from this same wave of construction.
Dubai Media City, where the tower stands, was purpose-built to attract media and technology companies from across the region. Walking through the area, visitors notice a working district where international firms and local businesses share the same streets.
The tower stands directly on Sheikh Zayed Road and is easy to spot from the main road. Since it is a working office building, access is generally limited to those with appointments or business inside.
AAM Tower was designed by Carlos Ott, an architect from Uruguay who became known internationally for designing the Opéra Bastille in Paris. His involvement in a Dubai office tower represents a rare crossover between cultural landmark design and commercial high-rise work.
