Hatta Dam, Water reservoir in Hatta region, Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Hatta Dam is a rockfill embankment dam in the Hajar Mountains near the town of Hatta, Dubai. Its crest is 220 m long and 32 m high, with an asphalt-concrete core and a grout curtain reaching 20 m deep. The reservoir behind it holds 6.5 million m³ at full capacity.

The dam was constructed in the late 1990s to store water for agricultural use and regional needs. This project marked an important step in Dubai's modern water management infrastructure.

The spillway on the dam's right side carries a mural depicting Zayid bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktum, a detail visitors stop to photograph. The reservoir and its rocky surroundings are used for kayaking and picnics, especially in the cooler months.

Visitors can rent kayaks and use designated picnic areas by the water, with parking available near the main entrance. The best time to visit is during cooler months from November through March when temperatures are more comfortable.

The dam's spillway carries a mural of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktum. A pumped-storage plant using the reservoir as its lower basin was studied from 2017, when DEWA commissioned EDF, with an estimated cost of 1.92 billion AED.
