Rumailah, UAE, Historic castle in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates.

Rumailah is a rectangular fortification featuring thick defensive walls built from traditional materials such as coral stone and adobe blocks. The structure displays typical characteristics of ancient fortified settlements from this period and region.

Excavations have revealed artifacts dating from 1100 to 500 BCE, indicating a settlement during the Iron Age period. These findings suggest the location was part of ancient trade networks connecting distant regions.

Pottery discovered here displays distinctive snake patterns, reflecting the artistic preferences and crafting techniques of ancient inhabitants. These designs offer insight into how people decorated and valued their daily objects.

The site is located west of Hili Archaeological Park with good road connections to Abu Dhabi. Visitors should remember this is an excavation site, so sturdy footwear and sun protection are advisable.

Researchers found pyramidal seal tools and chlorite vessels decorated with turtle motifs. These objects reveal direct connections to trade routes that spanned considerable distances.
