Museo de la Educación Gabriela Mistral, Educational heritage museum in Yungay district, Santiago, Chile
The museum occupies the west wing of a former Normal School building at the intersection of Chacabuco and Compañía de Jesús streets in Santiago.
Founded in 1941 as the Pedagogical Museum of Chile, the institution moved to its current location in 1981 and received its present name in 2006.
The museum maintains a collection of 40,000 educational texts and 6,000 digitized photographs documenting the development of Chilean education through generations.
Located at Compañía de Jesús 3150, the museum welcomes visitors Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
The institution preserves historical school furniture, including original desks and the bell from the José Abelardo Nuñez Normal School.
