Tucumán Province, Administrative province in northwestern Argentina
Tucumán is an administrative unit in northwestern Argentina, situated between Salta and Santiago del Estero. The province covers fertile valleys, mountain ranges and seventeen administrative districts.
The Congress of Tucumán declared independence from Spain in 1816, shaping the formation of the Argentine Republic. This event made the region a key location in South American history.
