Our Lady of Rosary Cathedral, Cafayate

The cathedral presents five naves within its structure and features architectural elements typical of late 19th-century religious buildings in South America.

Construction of the cathedral started in 1885 to replace a previous deteriorating structure, marking a period of religious development in Cafayate.

The cathedral functions as the seat of the Catholic bishopric of Cafayate and operates under the administration of Bishop Demetrio Jiménez Sánchez-Mariscal.

Located at coordinates 26°04′22″S and 65°58′44″W, the cathedral remains open for religious services and welcomes visitors throughout the week.

This religious building stands as one of only three cathedrals in South America that maintain a five-nave architectural configuration.
