The planetarium opened on October 28, 1987, following an initiative by University of Campinas professors to enhance science education in the region.
The facility serves as an educational center where students and general public learn about astronomical phenomena through simulated space journeys and night sky observations.
Sessions occur Tuesday through Friday and Sunday at 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM, with tickets priced at 10 Brazilian reais for adults and 5 for reduced fares.
The planetarium technology enables visitors to observe the night sky from any location on Earth and any time period, past or future.
