Trincheiras beach

Trincheiras Beach lies along the north coast of Paraíba and features light sand shores with natural rock pools that form during low tide. The coastline curves gently with sections of rocky outcrops and gradually sloping ground that deepens toward the water.

The beach takes its name from Portuguese fortifications built during colonial times to defend against Dutch attacks. This defensive structure shaped the region's history during the 17th century.

The area maintains strong connections to indigenous Potiguara communities, who continue traditional practices and ceremonies near the coastline.

The beach is easily reached via highways BR 101 and PB 041, with various accommodations available in Baía da Traição municipality. The best time to visit is during low tide when natural pools and sandbanks become accessible.

During low tide, expansive sandbanks emerge alongside a lighthouse, creating temporary pathways for beach walks and photography. These shifting landscapes offer a fresh perspective on the coastline each time.
