Miriri beach

Miriri Beach is a stretch of sand along Brazil's northeastern coast where a river meets the ocean. The shoreline features white sand backed by colorful cliff faces that rise above the water.

This coastal area served as a key meeting point between ocean-based and inland communities during Brazil's early colonial times. Trade routes and maritime traffic shaped how the location was used and settled.

Local fishermen maintain traditional fishing methods at Miriri Beach, using hand-crafted nets and small boats to collect the daily catch.

The beach has few amenities, so bring supplies with you. Access is possible by buggy from nearby João Pessoa or by walking sandy paths from the surrounding area.

The water here offers three distinct swimming conditions: ocean waves, river flow, and quiet lagoons created by the landscape. This variety happens naturally where the river meets the sea and creates protected pools.
