Palácio da Justiça

Palácio da Justiça is a courthouse with eclectic architecture located in Santo Antônio that features a central dome and marble staircases throughout its interior. The building contains stained glass windows and intricate decorative details in its halls and chambers.

Construction began in 1924 during the centennial celebration of the Confederation of Equador and was completed in 1930. This project represented an important moment in Recife's development during that decade.

The stained glass windows depict scenes from the early legislative assembly in the Americas under Prince Maurice of Nassau. These artworks tell the story of an important era in the region's past.

The building is open to visitors on most weekdays with security checks at the entrance. It is advisable to arrive during business hours and check ahead as court sessions may occasionally restrict access to certain areas.

Two notable sculptures titled 'Justice and Family' and 'Justice and Man' stand beneath the main dome in the entrance hall. These works represent core values of the justice system and draw visitors' attention upon arrival.
