Palácio do Campo das Princesas, Government palace in Recife, Brazil
The palace features eclectic architecture with a grand eastern facade, multiple halls, and ornate decorative elements representing different architectural periods and styles.
Construction of the palace began in 1841 under engineer Morais Ancora, replacing the former Royal Treasury building at the request of Governor Francisco do Rego Barros.
The building serves as the administrative headquarters for the Governor of Pernambuco, hosting official ceremonies and displaying regional artworks throughout its interior spaces.
Tours of the palace require advance reservations, and visitors can access the site from central Recife near the intersection of Capibaribe and Beberibe rivers.
The palace received its name in 1859 during preparations for Emperor Dom Pedro II's visit, with an advanced lighting system of 75 points installed during 1920s renovations.
