Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Following its establishment as a national park in 1991, UNESCO recognized the forest as a World Heritage Site in 1994 for its ecological importance.
Local communities near Bwindi maintain traditional practices while participating in conservation efforts through guided tours and educational programs about mountain gorillas.
Visitors need to obtain permits in advance for gorilla tracking, which involves hiking through forest trails with experienced guides during morning sessions.
Half of the global mountain gorilla population resides within this forest, sharing the habitat with 120 mammal species and 346 bird species.
