Arusha Cultural Heritage Centre, Cultural heritage museum in Arusha, Tanzania
The Arusha Cultural Heritage Centre is a museum complex in Tanzania that displays a large collection of African art and crafts. The exhibition includes carved wooden pieces, statues, masks, furniture, household items, and traditional doors from Zanzibar.
The center was established to preserve and display African craftsmanship and art forms for the public. It has developed into an important venue where both local and international visitors can explore artworks from several African nations.
The center displays art and everyday items from across Africa, with special emphasis on traditional Masai craftsmanship and tools made from natural materials. Visitors can observe how different African cultures have maintained their handmaking traditions over time.
The center is located about 10 kilometers south of central Arusha on Dodoma Road and is easily accessible by car. On-site you will find a restaurant, a coffee bar, and souvenir shops where you can relax and purchase locally made crafts during your visit.
The center houses rare Tanzanite gemstones, blue to violet minerals found only in the Mirerani Hills. Experts on site are happy to explain the special qualities of these valuable stones and their significance to the region.
