Bogor Timur is an administrative district in Bogor City comprising six neighborhoods: Sukasari, Baranangsiang, Katulampa, Sindangsari, Sindangrasa, and Tajur. The area sits at 282 meters elevation and features a mix of residential zones with both urban and rural characteristics.
The district was created by Government Regulation Number 5 in 1995, which incorporated several villages from Bogor Regency into the city. This change marked the transition from rural to urban-focused organization.
Multiple ethnic communities—Sundanese, Javanese, and Betawi people—share the neighborhoods and maintain their traditions through weekly markets and local gatherings. This mix shapes daily life and gives the district its diverse character.
