West Jakarta

West Jakarta covers 129.54 square kilometers and accommodates more than 2.4 million residents across eight distinct districts with modern infrastructure and residential areas.

The region evolved from its origins as part of Batavia, established by the Dutch East India Company in the 17th century, into a separate administrative city in 2000.

The Glodok district contains numerous temples, traditional markets, and cultural institutions that represent the Indonesian Chinese community within the metropolitan area.

Transportation networks include Trans Jakarta bus lines, KRL Commuter trains, and planned MRT extensions connecting the area with other parts of the capital region.

The Mall Taman Anggrek in West Jakarta features an indoor ice skating rink and contains over 500 retail establishments across seven interconnected buildings.
