National Press Monument

The National Press Monument contains extensive collections of newspapers, magazines, and journalism equipment within a multi-story building in Central Java.

Established in 1978, the museum building originally served as Sociëteit Sasana Soeka in 1918 and hosted the first Indonesian Journalists Association meeting.

The museum displays ten bronze busts of notable Indonesian journalists and presents dioramas depicting the development of communication from pre-colonial times.

Located at Jalan Gajahmada 59, the museum welcomes visitors from Monday through Sunday between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

The facility houses over one million archived newspapers and magazines, including rare publications documenting Indonesian press evolution through different periods.
