Gedong Arca Museum, Archaeological museum in Tampak Siring Village, Gianyar, Indonesia.
Gedong Arca Museum is an archaeological site in Tampak Siring housing approximately 3000 artifacts across different periods. The collection occupies three buildings: the Administration Building, the Arca Building, and the Archaeological Rescue Hall.
The museum was founded in 1974 after archaeologist R.P. Soejono began collecting artifacts in 1958. The objects range from prehistoric times to the bronze period, with emphasis on pieces from the 8th to 15th centuries.
Stone statues and religious objects fill the courtyards, revealing what local communities valued and how they practiced their beliefs. These pieces show the spiritual life that shaped the island's past.
The museum operates on weekdays Monday through Friday with a traditional layout featuring three courtyards for browsing. Wheelchair access is available throughout, allowing all visitors to move comfortably between the exhibition spaces.
The building itself follows traditional Balinese temple design with symmetrical courtyards and a central pond at the heart. This architectural approach means the surroundings teach visitors as much as the displayed objects do.
