Australian Inland Mission Hospital, Birdsville

The Australian Inland Mission Hospital in Birdsville is a facility with steel structures designed to withstand the extreme heat and conditions of Queensland's outback region. The complex includes multiple sections that once housed patient wards, medical equipment, and staff quarters for the doctors and nurses who worked there.

The original nursing hostel began in 1923 as Queensland's first mission facility in this remote area. A fire destroyed it in 1951, leading to the construction of the steel building that opened in 1953.
