H2 Hinde Tree, Heritage-listed macadamia tree in Gilston, Gold Coast, Australia

The H2 Hinde Tree is a Macadamia integrifolia at Colliston, 926 Gilston Road, Gilston, about nine kilometres southwest of Nerang. It was probably planted in the 1920s and registered by the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Stock in 1960 as scion wood. Grafted material from this tagged parent tree was used to propagate orchards across Queensland over the following two decades.

Michael James Hinde discovered wild macadamia seedlings in 1879 and replanted them on his property. This particular tree was established in the 1920s and became one of the original parent specimens for Australia's macadamia farming sector.

The tree became central to Australia's macadamia farming sector, providing genetic material for commercial orchards nationwide during rapid industry expansion. Its role in breeding programs made it a landmark in the country's agricultural heritage.

The tree is located about 9 kilometers southwest of Nerang on a private farm property. Visitors should arrange access in advance since it stands on working agricultural land.

The tree was registered by the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Stock in 1960 as scion wood, and for the next two decades orchards across Queensland grafted material from it. It was one of only two Australian-developed macadamia varieties then holding that status. It joined the Queensland Heritage Register on 14 August 2008.
