The Hill Palmer House features redwood construction in the Stick-Eastlake style, with three bedrooms situated on a 1.3-acre property in Chatsworth Park South.
James and Rhonda Hill established their 110-acre homestead in 1886, which expanded to 230 acres before their daughter Minnie inherited and maintained the property until 1976.
The cottage represents the pioneer heritage of San Fernando Valley settlers, displaying early 20th-century residential architecture and agricultural practices of the American West.
The Chatsworth Historical Society manages the property, offering guided tours and hosting private events in this National Register of Historic Places location.
Minnie Palmer sold the ranch to Los Angeles in 1956 with an agreement that allowed her to live there rent-free while tending the land with an antique handplow.
