Luhrs Building, Historic high-rise office building in Downtown Phoenix, Arizona.
The Luhrs Building is a ten-story office structure in Downtown Phoenix with beige brick walls and marble detailing topped by a heavy carved cornice. Its classical facade preserves original exterior features while the interior spaces serve modern purposes after recent renovation work.
The building was completed in 1924 and was the tallest structure in the region between El Paso and Los Angeles at that time. Decades later it gained recognition as a historic property in 1990 and was listed on the National Register in 2024.
The Arizona Club occupied floors seven through ten from 1924 to 1971, providing dining rooms, lounges, a library, and bedrooms for its members.
The ground floor contains a cocktail bar while upper levels provide office space following comprehensive renovation work. The building is straightforward to access and navigate, and its Downtown location makes it easy to reach by foot or local transport.
The building earned recognition on the Phoenix Historic Property Register in 1990 and secured its place on the National Register of Historic Places in 2024.
